Cleaning products and disinfectants are our best friends when trying to fight a contagious virus. If you want to skip harmful chemicals in favor of a safer, natural alternative, opt for a homemade disinfectant solution. Rubbing alcohol is a great disinfectant on its own, but adding in lemon peels increases the disinfectant quality.

This super simple recipe smells delicious, is 100% natural and is very effective.

  1. Add some lemon peels to a large jar with a secure lid and fill to the top with rubbing alcohol (at least 70%)
  2. Allow to infuse for at least 2 weeks
  3. Remove the lemon rinds and any solids by pouring the liquid through a fine sieve; reusable produce bags also make great, easily washable strainers
  4. Pour into a reusable spray bottle

And voila! You're ready to create a healthy, clean and lemon-scented home!
